Vivonet Company History 

Based in Vancouver Canada, Vivonet formed in 2000 seeking to lead the industry in the growing field of POS and payment technology for the restaurant industry in the United States, Canada, and the rest of the world. By 2011, the company tripled in size while also garnering a prestigious placement on the Best Companies To Work For in British Columbia list that same year. After many years of establishing fruitful relationships with partners across the technology spectrum, we developed the unique Vivonet Cloud Platform, connecting POS and other front-of-house technology with back-of-house data analysis and reporting tools  

With our integrated platform and open API, Vivonet now directly serves customers in the hotel industry, public institutions like schools, healthcare facilities, government, and a variety of private businesses with high-volume food service operations and data management requirements. We also continue to work closely with leading food service management companies, helping them to scale their customers' operations with cloud-based transactional data tools and infrastructure.

Executive Team

Alaa Pasha - President and Chief Executive Officer

Alaa joined Vivonet in October 2014 as the company’s President and CEO. He has over 20 years of executive management and leadership experience in software and service companies that provide solutions to the global hospitality market. Alaa has a passion for consumers, sales and marketing expertise in the worldwide restaurant industry, and a track record scaling technology businesses globally. Most recently, Alaa was the Senior Vice President with Red Book Connect. In that role, Alaa was responsible for the global alliance and channel business. Prior to Red Book Connect, Alaa served as the President and CEO of MacromatiX, where he led the company from a small Australian business to a global market leader in the SaaS back office business for the restaurant industry. Alaa was also the President and CEO of Compris Technologies, a subsidiary of NCR.

Caroline Dunn – Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer 

Caroline oversees Vivonet’s Finance and Operations groups. In addition to the day to day management of Vivonet’s finances, Caroline’s operational teams are responsible for maintaining the high standard of customer experience that Vivonet's clients have come to expect. Caroline has held financial and operational executive roles in leading Canadian technology companies for the past 15 years. She is an accomplished leader with a proven ability to deliver shareholder value through strategic growth in North America and Europe. Before coming on board with Vivonet, Caroline worked as the CFO of a healthcare consultancy and a mobile data solutions company. Previously, she led Sierra Systems for 8 years where she held various senior executive positions. Caroline is a Chartered Accountant and serves on the board of a pan-Canadian non-profit organization.



Jonathan Pryor – Vice President, Sales

Jonathan is responsible for building Vivonet’s relationships with current and prospective customers. In this role, he uses his broad industry experience and technical background to empower Vivonet’s largest brands with our cloud-based technology. Before joining Vivonet Jonathan worked at SmartStore Business Intelligence Solutions where he was the VP of Sales for the foodservice management, restaurant, specialty retail and supermarket vertical markets. Previous to SmartStore Jonathan worked at InfoGenesis (now Agilysys) for 23 years. At InfoGenesis, Jonathan began as a Systems Engineer but quickly moved into a sales position and ultimately landed a sales executive position. During his tenure, he was responsible for managing the InfoGenesis global sales team. Jonathan is the proud father of 12 children and lives in New Jersey.



Michael Tedesco - Vice President, Support and Services

Michael has a track record of over 20 years of customer experience success in global technology organizations. Prior to joining Vivonet, Michael held support and services leadership roles with Eastman Kodak, DDS Wireless and Domino Printing Sciences. His leadership expertise is in building up teams to successfully deliver product support roadmaps, training, and strategies around support plan roll-outs to help meet cross-departmental goals to maintaining the high standards of customer service set by the company. Michael is based in Vancouver where he lives with his wife and 2 children.



Steve Leow - Vice President, Engineering

With 30 years of experience running software development departments and producing market leading software, Steve believes in creating a technology vision that delivers on quality and a superior customer experience. Steve’s career portfolio includes the role of VP, Product Development at Sage Software where he created and led the development of accounting software that became the market share leader in Canada. He served as VP, Product Development at Heamonetics Corp. where he ran the development of healthcare software, and has also led the development of software for the legal industry. Steve is based in Vancouver where he lives with his wife and daughter.
