Halo is making news in the industry with our different approach to POS Restaurant Systems. We found the POS industry to be plagued with high prices, poor service, unnecessary complexity, and a general apathy to the issues facing restaurateurs. Business owners have grown accustomed to this and are accepting these poor practices as industry standards. With Halo, restaurant POS system, we wanted to address these issues and provide restaurateurs with a viable alternative to traditional POS.

Vivonet Inc. Announces Appointment of Jim MacCallum as Chief Financial Officer

Vancouver, British Columbia – September 1, 2010 – Vivonet Inc., the leader in secure web-based point of sale (“POS”) software for the North American restaurant industry, is excited to announce the appointment of Jim MacCallum as Chief Financial Officer.

Jim brings more than 15 years of financial expertise to Vivonet and a successful track record working with high growth technology companies. As the newest member of the Vivonet Executive team, Jim will provide leadership on business and financial strategies, financial reporting, treasury, taxation and administration.

Every year since 2005, Vivonet has experienced triple digit growth and since January 2010 the company’s workforce has doubled in size to 75 employees. We look forward to the valuable contribution Jim will bring to the company as we continue in our rapid growth phase,” says Ryan Volberg, president and CEO of Vivonet. “Jim’s experience with leading technology companies, coupled with his strong financial and educational background make him an ideal candidate for CFO.

Prior to joining Vivonet, Jim was Vice President of Finance for Absolute Software (TSE:ABT), a $200 million company specializing in technology and services for the management and security of mobile computers, netbooks, and smartphones. He has also held similar positions at Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) as Controller, Global Customer Financial Services and at PMC-Sierra Inc. (NASDAQ:PMCS) as Controller of Operations. Jim has participated in initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, debt financing and has managed public company reporting.

Jim completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG LLP in 1995 and earned his BA from the University of British Columbia.

Jim will be replacing Kevin Falk, who assumed the role of interim Chief Finance Officer in October 2008. Kevin has transitioned into the role of Chief Product Officer at Vivonet. This summer, Vivonet secured a landmark agreement with Sodexo, world leader in quality of daily life solutions. Vivonet is set to deploy its Halo Secure Web Based POS software into the majority of Sodexo’s 6,000 North American client sites by 2015. As Chief Product Officer, Kevin, a co-founder of Vivonet, will have the opportunity to focus on product strategy, development and positioning of the Halo Secure Web Based POS product brand to restaurant and foodservice clients across North America.
