Vivonet Executives named on the 2006 Top 40 under 40

Vancouver, B.C., Canada — January 10, 2007

Vivonet Inc. is proud to announce that Vivonet founders, Ryan Volberg and Kevin Falk have been named on the Business in Vancouver 2006 ‘Top 40 under 40’ list. The award recognizes British Columbia's top business leaders under the age of forty.

Ryan and Kevin received the award for the determination, perseverance and courage they have shown throughout the course of Vivonet’s growth.

Vivonet was founded in 1999 by Ryan and Kevin whose vision was to harness the power of the internet to develop an advanced point of sale (POS), data warehousing and payment product for the hospitality and retail industry that would provide functionality previously unavailable to the market.

Like the majority of companies, Vivonet encountered turbulent times during the dot com crash. Ryan recounts the difficulties the company faced: "In 2002 Vivonet was facing the closing of our business and the loss of our products and technology to a partner turned competitor. We fought back against an industry giant and won. At the same time, Vivonet reinvented itself, building a profitable multi-million dollar business in the midst of intense turmoil, generating a profit in the first year."

Business in Vancouver characterize this year’s recipients as having, “a remarkable passion for business – and an unerring pursuit of excellence within the workplace.” Ryan and Kevin truly embody these characteristics and through their work with Vivonet show that great ideas and products are not a guarantee of success in today's business climate. Resilience and total commitment to your team and a set of values can be your best competitive advantage.

Business in Vancouver will be hosting a cocktail reception and awards ceremony to honour all the Top 40 under 40 winners on Thursday, February 22, 2006 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Tickets can be pre-ordered from the Business in Vancouver website at www.biv.com.
