Vivonet, Inc. is currently looking for a credible and conscientious Quality Assurance Technologist for our Burnaby, BC office, reporting to head of Quality Assurance. Your precision and efficiency will help you perform your role well. Your accountability, ethics, and sound judgment will differentiate you from your peers. We push the limits of the technology and want someone who strives for excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in design/code reviews and inspections, identifying patterns and providing insights
  • Drive best practices ensuring efficient, precise and credible work
  • Write and execute test plans, test scripts
  • Assist with setup and maintenance of test equipment / servers, workstations and network
  • Prepare test data
  • Provide test and defect status to project team members
  • Manage test scripts and corollary work products

Requirements:

  • Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of extensive software testing and quality assurance experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Honest, mature and enthusiastic team player
  • Independent self starter / able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent problem solving, discipline and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to multitask
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality work with precision and sound judgment
  • Accountable, conscientious and results oriented
  • 2+ years experience with XML/XSL
  • 2+ years experience with programming languages and software development
  • 1+ years experience with scripting languages (e.g. Ruby, Perl, Python, JScript)
  • 3+ years experience with automation tools such as TestComplete, QTP or Winrunner.
  • 3+ years experience Test Management tools such as Rally, Test Director/Quality Center and Bugzilla.
  • 3+ years experience troubleshooting Windows networks
  • Experience in testing end-to-end distributed systems.
  • Experience in testing and exploiting security flaws.
  • Experience in working with QA virtual environments
  • Experience with technologies supporting issue tracking, requirements tracking, specifications tracking, time management
  • Experience in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases and queries
  • 3+ years experience in manually testing windows and web applications

Additional Assets:

  • 3+ years experience with testing web applications, including AJAX, JSON and SOAP based, Web 2.0 applications (scalability, performance, multi-tenancy, 24/7)
  • Experience with testing within LAMP stack applications
  • Advanced networking concepts (sockets, TCP/IP, multithreading)
  • Experience with Windows installer technologies
  • Understanding of Payment Applications Best Practices or PA-DSS standards
  • Industry experience in Oracle and SQL Server
  • Microsoft or Oracle certifications
  • Industry experience in testing large, scale enterprise products
  • Experience in working with computer hardware assembly
  • Software development experience
